Update on Wedding Email Scams

On October 3rd, I did a post on wedding email scams.  I have had several emails in regards to this post. I continue to receive numerous emails every week that are a scam.  If some of you are wondering what a typical email scam looks like, here is one that I received today.

Hello

I’m looking for a wedding planner in your country. Well ok not just a “planner” But a professional wedding planer as much as I am planning from a far. But I do want to see if I might be able to afford a planner to actually implement the plan and layout the day of event. I am looking for someone who can be there for me on my wedding day to help take some of the responsibilities off my plate. We have already fixed the wedding date on the 13th of February 2009.

Please advise if you would be able to organize such an event for us. I have a budget of 25,000 pounds for this wedding. If you would be free on that date please let me know.

I would also like to know:

1) What you offer? What is unique about your services?

2) What is your fee? What’s included? What is not included?

3) Do you have references to suggest?

4) Do you give a receipt/contract? What are your policies?

5) Are you registered?

6) How accessible/responsive are you by phone and by email?

7) Do you do rehearsal?

8)  Do you have already tailored packages?

If this meets any part of your wedding services you provide can you please email me with a “package” and prices . Thanks! .
